In the framework of its international affiliation cooperation, IU is offering its students and staff (academic and administrative) the chance to gain some of the European experience in the form of students exchange, faculty teaching (short courses), and staff training. Accordingly, Staff Mobility for teaching and training has over the past few years been undertaken between IU  and the International School for Social and Business Studies in Slovenia Funded by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union.

As a part of its internationalization strategy, IU has become a member of the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED) which represents 122 members from 24 countries.
