" the importance of the breakfast consumption in children "

The nutrition and food sciences department at Nabatieh campus conducted a community based intervention at The Canadian Lebanese Academy of Excellence emphasizing on “the importance of the breakfast consumption in children”. The purpose of this intervention was to explain the effect of the breakfast meal on the health, the wellbeing as well as the academic performance. A healthy eating education session was given by two nutrition students Fatima Hijazi and Fatima Alawieh under the supervision of their instructor Mrs Aya Jammoul and their campus coordinator Mrs Nancy Hallal, followed by two interactive classroom activities for 43 students (Grade 4 and 5). The event ended with the distribution of healthy breakfast boxes, flyers explaining how to prepare a healthy breakfast and gifts for all the students who participated. ​
