Software Defined Networks (SDN)
In its series of events this fall semester, the Department of Computer Science organized a seminar on SDN networks given by Dr. Jawad Khalefe. The seminar took place on Monday December 20 at Beirut Campus.
The architecture of information and communication infrastructures is changing to accommodate the requirements for a growing number of ICT-enabled services and applications. Since networks have been increasing a lot in size and in requirements, moving around hardware switches has become a burden. Even manually setting up individual Internetworking Operating Systems has become a complicated and error-prone task for companies running strongly virtualized environments along with large networks. This is where Software Defined Networking—SDN for short—enters the game.
