Dangers of Dieting and Eating Disorders

The Lebanese International University- Bekaa campus, received on October 30, 2017, the Middle East Eating Disorders Association (MEEDA) represented by Ms. Huguette Abou Khalil, the awareness campaign director and Dr. Judith Skaf, an endocrinologist, who delivered a seminar entitled “Dangers of dieting and Eating disorders”. The seminar was attended by Nutrition students mainly and other interested students and instructors. The presentation focused mainly on the misconceptions and errors frequently committed by dieters, the risk factors that may lead to the onset of eating disorders as well as the characteristics of each type, recommendations for prevention and treatment options available for patients. A certificate of appreciation was presented to the speakers in acknowledgment of their efforts.
